What is emla™

emla cream is a local anaesthetic cream that can be applied to the skin to suppress the pain of needle procedures.

By the patient having emla applied at home prior to the procedure (usually 1 hour ahead of procedure), there is a significant opportunity to reduce the pain and distress for patients when visiting a health professional for a procedure involving a needle.1
